About Us

Our History

Jacobs’ Ladder began in December, 1999, with 4 riders a week.

In January 2000, we became a Member Center in the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association. There were only 14 other therapeutic riding centers recognized in the state of GA.

Leslie is a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, and an Equine Specialist in Mental Health & Learning in the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (pathintl.org) and a Special Olympics Advanced Equestrian Coach.

In April, 2003, Jacobs’ Ladder became a Premier Center with PATH International accreditation. We undergo reaccreditation every 5 years.

We are an agency in the Greater Valdosta United Way.

In March, 2014, Kristen Harbin Novack became a PATH International Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, to help support our growing needs.

"In riding a horse, we borrow freedom."
